CONNECTICON 08 Report! So Connecticon had its good points I must say. I think it went by way too quickly and lacked people to party with, but I still got to be around a bunch of interesting people I love to hang around. I basically got there, set up my table next to Kittys. She was already there. Not only did she have a table with a fellow staffer I know, but she is also the one who coded this site in the end. She's a good friend and I'm happy she got to go to CTcon with me, not to mention being just helpful in general. So I chilled at my table the first day with like 2 hours of sleep cause I was making stickers all night, and I apologize that I didn't have commissions open the whole weekend like I originally wanted, or the T Shirts I planned for (same design as the sticker). Kinda sucks when your master plans and 10 sets of back ups fall through. Guess time just wasn't ready for that.
Andi on the other hand, and her comic Easyskankin have been steadily getting better and better with a fan base from what I saw. She also had shirts. I had to pick one up, cause they were awesome. Sorry Chris, I owe you for the bowling and the snipe steal of the shirt. :P
I saw Chris Malone again, speaking of. Always good to see him at a con, cause we get into some interesting conversations about art and stuff. He covered a bowling game I failed hardcore at at the con after party. I'll have to return the favor eventually. I'm somewhat on the wall about my con schedule as of now, cause of some other news I'll mention a bit further down.
I basically handed out stickers and DJed tunes from the table, and even met a couple of new people too. Skylar, or that one with the pink hair, chilled a ton around the table. Thanks for helping out, dude! I missed the webcomic auction sadly, but I needed the sleep. I got to get some badassed things in the dealers room too... Like FINALLY getting a power bandanna from the Applegeeks, A Bokan and belt loop for it, a "Paperweight", the most awesome chrome goggles on the face of the EARTH, and a belt chain.
I do have my complaints about CTcon though... Mainly how quiet it was, and how quickly it went by. It was almost too smooth and the little teeny boppers went to bed early. Bah. I did have fun though. The whole con DID get Rick Rolled via PA system. One thing is that its the first year I've ever gone to this thing without my late friend, James, who you may have seen in the program book. You only know how much someone enriched an event when they're not in it that time. A chapter in my life is effectively closed I hate to say. Sadly, the eulogy I meant for him was lost in email, and the last minute one had to be adopted. I would like to officially amend what was said there with the actual eulogy...

The things considered trite in that piece are in fact not in the least. The people who knew him, knew his sense of humor would have responded well to that. I mean... We were one upping each other on how to best stage our deaths and show up to our own funerals in the funniest and most gruesome ways like a month before it all happened (over AIM), so yeah... :]. I can't exactly be insincere with the mindset of a remembrance piece, for that would contradict everything stood for by the person, and would force smiles in a false, "Say Cheese," soul sucking freeze-frame of life. Cameras only steal the soul when you're FORCED to smile by the way. I don't say cheese, I eat cheese, so fuck off, geeze. :D


Depressing things aside, I must give some shout-outs to people. I'm sorry I haven't linked you in this blog, I have way too little time to do that right now, but I will be making a link list permanently on this site eventually. :)

I'm moving. Thats right. I'm leaving the shoreline of CT and I'm going to live in Providence RI soon so I can take art classes at Rhode Island School of Design. They aren't credited classes, but this year will all be about being alive and away from this environment which kills my muse, making my portfolio fucking sextastic, improving SAT scores, and staying inspired and hopefully updating this comic a ton more than this summer. I'm launching in a couple of weeks once some nutty things are worked out first. There are many other reasons other than just getting out and starting my life that I'm moving away. Lets just say that the current situation has made living here not only unbearable, but impossible. This also means that I will be busy doing classes, keeping my roomies nice and happy, keeping up with homework, a job, my personal life (Which is like... A suitcase bomb), and friends. So basically doing a ceremony for my friend will be really hard to pull off, even though I may still try before I move. I really don't know though. I know for sure that I will not feel at peace with this until I can hold such a get together, cause my friend would not have wanted such a depressing and terrible situation to be the way he was remembered. My idea is to get a crate or two of Bawls, some Rum and Jager, Super Smash Bros., and a movie he introduced people to, like Army of Darkness or something equally as ridiculous, and ending the day with our own personal send offs and good byes at the beach. The Smash tourney we do would have a level 9 Green Sheik in each round to honor our asses being beaten so many times by him. And thats that I guess... Like I said. I'm gonna try but there's no guarantee just yet cause of the whole classes starting/job hunt/move thing. But yeah... Onto site relevant stuff...

Okay. So I'm gonna have a table in Artists Alley in Connecticon. Come pay me a visit. I'll have my ridiculous vinyl sign, hopefully stickers and business cards, a few old buttons, and a demented smile on my face. I'm gonna try making some updates before going. Life has been rather insane considering I'm probably moving near an art school in Rhode Island. Finally... FINALLY, I get the HELL out of this cursed Connecticut. The only time I am coming to return is to salt the scorched ground where the Starbucks used to be... HEHHEHEHEHhhhhh. So yeah... FDAhostage. It has certainly been a freakin' while, right? No worries. I'll finish that damn arc soon enough, and then actually enjoy this comic again. Lol. So Kilikas doing the usual surfboard contest, and I'm submitting my entries and enjoying the photoshops again. Consider it a nice warm up for the updates to come : ]

So first off...





And second... I would like to apologize for the lack of updates. Its no excuse really, more like a why. Due to reasons beyond my immediate control, things have been rather insane in my life. Between the job, the intense need to move out of this house, the personal issues, the computer crashing, the bad thoughts you get throughout the day, and my muse being a zombie in serious need of attention, I simply have not been able to update for a while. I've been drawing again, and thats a good sign, considering its been hard to open the stream of consciousness for a long time now. Organization has been off, obviously, cause I was supposed to be working on a more fluid fucking style already to do this plotline with, not to mention FINISHING THIS PART. >_<. But I'm definitely not dead, and neither is this site... It just tends to go in a coma... I mean, in all seriousness, I am not the worst webcomic when it comes to updates. Not saying any names (Sneezes a few) XD, but webcomic artists are kinda notorious for their injuries and trauma. I do know a lot more about the plotline for this comic, and many possible end sequences, and some personal vents from current life. I am definitely going to throw in a lot of things regarding what has gone on IRL, because this will make my will to do this comic not just a hobby, but also a venting mechanism, which it kinda started off as when I was a wee little depressed kid. LUL. Of course... This blog is subject to more update, cause I have more 'splaining to do. Brb...

Hey everyone. Sorry for the couple of weeks of crappy updating. I am writing this to say that I can no longer guarantee that I will update EVERY friday like usual, at least until I can work some more college stuff out. I am also starting my job very soon and making all kinds of appointments, and I'm just spent most of the time. My priority would be here if it weren't college I was worried about... So yeah. Don't expect this to continue though. Personal issues, caffeine withdrawal, depression, and shit I have to deal with has always been kind of a constant in my life, and it has never completely stopped my drive to make things.


I'm also trying to make a coloring technique that doesn't take hours to do, but still satisfies me. I would not want software preferences to limit my usual lineart style I set off to make this comic originally with! So I'm trying to make this work for me. I'm not trying to reduce quality either... Time OFTEN has to do with quality but an artist who does not take pleasure in their work when it is done will make stuff that is far worse than someone who likes what they do, time-based or not.


So I'm experimenting with flash and stuff :P

So don't worry... Personal issues, and art school panic attack aside, I will still be doing this, so still visit it on Fridays! I assure you we're OPEN. Hahah... Quotes.

EDIT: Yeah... I updated... I decided to do something a bit different yet again, but this actually turned out pretty clean and simple (Utada style... DEERRR). I ended up inking in flash, cause the paint brush in photoshop is making me want to gouge my eyes out with my stylus. I wish photoshop just had an inking tool like flash, but was still pressure sensitive. I'm probably missing something, cause I'm still learning about this software, but still... That would make it so much less time-consuming! But whatever. Point is to get the story out of my head, and get it good enough to fully realize the vision... But I was really aiming for coloring last weeks comic too. I must apologize. Things have simply been unfathomably chaotic in terms of getting into art school. I should be finishing my application tomorrow. There are many things which are challenging here, not including my artwork (which I have been improving for weeks), so Wish Meh Luck! D:!!!!!!! Yep... I'm still updating today. Might be uploaded like, this evening though. I usually stay up all Thursday night to chisel out the rest of the comic, but this week, as you may be able to tell, had just been insane. Art school stuff is just driving me insane, and I've been working really hard on things like the portfolio and outlining my essay and talking to admissions. I'm pretty new to stuff involving amounts of money that are more than a good car, and how to get the government to lessen this, cause you're "Special".
